Open source doesn't just mean access to the source code and CoiNel understands that. As our previous experience, we have also learnt that open source software cannot just be server, mobile or desktop software but can also be widely used in embedded domain. Using U-Boot & RedBoot bootloaders, Linux kernel, open drivers, application & libraries (GTK, SDL, WebKit, Mplayer, ffmpeg, gSOAP, OpenSSL & many others), developing & debugging tools (GCC, gdb, valgrind, oprofile, lint), we can design functional-rich and robust electronic devices.

open_sourceCoiNel, wherever possible provides firmware, schematic and required documentation as open source components that can be accessed and utilized directly as it is or changes can be made  in it accordingly. Most of the evaluations boards designed by CoiNel have all the necessary documentation including source code that can downloaded for free.

CoiNel also has been partnering with various vendors and have assisted them in developing and promoting free and open source software.

We firmly believe in “Contributing to the society” and hence we have many university programs that can help upcoming technology engineers understand the latest trends in the electronic industry. This we assist, by providing them open source options to work on or provide links to open source solutions that can be used.

We can also use these open source solutions to design a commercially viable product that can be cost effective and yet stable, effective and reliable. CoiNel has also been providing custom engineered and built electronic designs for some of the most demanding Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), large enterprises and small to medium-size businesses using open source softwares. Their applications range from medical GUI design to innovative researches in tribology as well as process control and automation applications.
