CoiNel has designed test equipments that measure friction and wear structural components. The energy input through the reduction in friction, increase the service life of bearing materials, plug contacts or improve the service performance of sliding contacts. Thereby the respective structural component can be manufactured from inexpensive basic materials. Then its required functionality – lower friction resistance or wear is created with the coating system. By reducing friction and wear, energy and raw material resources are preserved and the service-life of products is increased. This is how Tribology contributes significantly to sustainability.

CoiNel designs solutions for Tribology test equipment manufacturers. The design solutions provided by CoiNel have been used in test equipments for HFRR (High Frequency Reciprocating Rig), Reciprocating Friction Monitor, 4 Ball Tester and Pin/Ball on Disk.

High Frequency Reciprocating Rig is an Oscillatory friction & wear test rig in linear motion. It is a PC controlled High Frequency Reciprocating Test Rig for Diesel Fuel Lubricity tests and uses an Electromagnetic Drive for oscillation. The PC software was developed using LabVIEW.

The Four Ball Tester is designed as a quick and a repeatable test for the lubricant industry to evaluate wear and friction properties of oils and greases. It is an excellent tool to aid research and development of new lubricating products and also as a quality control tool for both manufacturers of lubricants and buyers of large quantities of lubricants.

Pin/Ball on disc tester records friction and wear in sliding contact in dry, lubricated, controlled environment and vacuum conditions.

CoiNel has designed Instrumentation and control modules required for these machines and can use this expertise to design solutions based on similar customized tribology/test rig requirements on various platforms.
